I hold my breath as I feel the summer slipping away. The subtle colors of autumn push their way through the cool breeze.
Change, it’s never what I welcome but it’s always what I need. Continue reading “Embracing Change”

Fear is where the devil keeps you, so you can’t move into all that God has for you.
There have been many times in my life where I have allowed the enemy to keep me from God’s best because my fears were greater.
I can remember hiding out, shrinking back and making sure I was never called upon. Fear’s grip has the capability to paralyze even the strong. Continue reading “Are You Gripped By Fear?”

1. An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat.

I stepped onto the black belt as my feet shuffled one in front of the other. My emotions were high, and my thoughts were racing. I am angry, I mean really angry. I pick up speed and I feel this deep sadness. The pace gets faster, my heart beats harder and the tears come. My teeth grip down and I start to run. Continue reading “It’s Personal”
One of the many lessons I have learned on the journey in my life, is that it takes great courage to make it through.
Not just any kind of courage, but transcending courage. The kind of courage that can only come from heaven’s gates right to the door of your heart.
I was 35 years old. I had just had my fourth child, I was tired and there was a lot going on in our lives. But somehow I made it to a special event that was going on at our church. I remember sitting there when a lovely woman took center stage and began to sing. I closed my eyes and listened.
Her voice was like an angel that sang so sweetly. In the stillness I heard the Lord speak to my heart.
“You’re going to need courage for the remainder of the journey.”
I quickly opened my eyes and felt as though an alarm had just sounded. Continue reading “Courage On The Journey”
We live in a fast paced culture. We are all exhausted. We are filling our bodies up with chemicals that keep us up while we try to set a rhythm among the chaos.
How do we weave into our lives an attitude of gratitude when we are moving so fast? The demands of this life shout so much louder than our hearts that want to be glad. So what’s the art of a grateful heart? The word of TRUTH.
Psalm 28:7- “The lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with Joy.”
Psalm 9:1-2: “I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O most high.”
The word of God is consistent in telling us what happens when we have a grateful heart. Continue reading “Attitude of Gratitude”
The candle flickered in the darkness, casting shadows upon the wall. The vibration of my cell phone startled me. I answered it quietly, “Hello?” Her voice on the other end was welcoming. My sweet Cousin and friend Shentel. I took a deep breath and embrace the sound of her voice.
“Hey, I felt the lord pressing me to call you, I want to read you something the Lord laid on my heart for you.”
As she spoke she began to remind me of this past year and all the lord has taken me through. I followed her words as she captured my journey, it seemed to bring comfort to my weary soul. Continue reading “Process – Pain – Purpose”
