Weary Heart

Don't grow weary

Life is tough sometimes.

Do you find it difficult as you try to move forward?

Perhaps you are overwhelmed by your circumstances?

Life as a Believer can be beautiful, joyful and full of hope.

However, there are days when adversity shows up and tries to steal away the promises of God.

Galatians 6:9 tells us, ” And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

There it is a promise for us today. But it comes with a condition,

” If we don’t give up.”

We must not grow weary in our steps, but remember that it is by the blood of Jesus Christ we can overcome any circumstance.

You might be facing a tough decision.

Maybe you’re feeling tired and wanting to give up on your marriage, your job or life in general.

I’ve been in the depths of despair many times, and I understand what it feels like to want to quit.

The dark cloud hanging over your life right now feels real and hopeless.

But God…

His word is full of truth and hope when it comes to this life we live.

Psalm 73:25 ” Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. ” (ESV)

No matter how we are feeling, we must turn our self-centered thoughts back to the Lord. Sometimes we get so fixated on our situation that we forget that God is in control.

Sitting in a puddle of self-pity is easy.

But it is better to face your battle with a sword in hand.

If His word is indeed a lamp to your feet and light to your path, then you have what you need to walk right out from under that dark cloud and into the light of truth.

The Holy Spirit is the power we have to get out of the enemy’s  trap and live in freedom.

But do you want to?

We have choices to make every day.

We can allow worry and stress to steal our peace and confidence that God will work ALL things out for our good, or we can allow the enemy access to our thoughts, and he will crush us.

The battles you will face today is already won because of Christ. When you understand his Sovereignty and trust His character, then you will know He will come for you.

Praying that your hope stands in Christ alone.

Isaiah 26:3 ” You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”(NLT)

Keep your mind set on the One, who holds you in the palm of His hand.

Praying for you today.

Jamie
