Merry Christmas

may you never

I’m wishing you and your family a wonderful and beautiful Christmas day.

In a few minutes our grandbabies will be over with wide eyes and excitement to see what is under the tree.

Christmas morning at our house has been pretty exciting.

When My children were little I struggled to find ways to make Christmas feel special.

Tony would read the Christmas story to the kids, found in Luke 2:1-20

Then he’d read the story by Max Lucado  “Alabaster’s song”

The smell of the grand breakfast being fashioned filled the air.

Cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, bacon, hot cocoa with marshmallows and candy canes used as stir sticks.

Now I get to continue the tradition with our grandbabies.

My hope is to pour out the love of Jesus to them and tell them the beautiful truth of the baby born in a manger.

I pray as they grow they never lose their sense of wonder for the things of God.

Though the world will tug at their heart and the words of men may distract them with their unbelief, may the savior born over 2,000 years ago surround them and fill them with His truth always.

The saddest part about the holiday is the unbelief of humanity and to some, Christmas has no legitimate meaning at all.

I pray that you never lose your sense of wonder.

I pray if you have never really embraced the truth about Christmas, that today be that day.

Set aside the traditions for a moment and listen to the words written in Isaiah 9:6

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder.

And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

To you the story of Jesus might just be of a baby born in a manger and it ends there.

But the true meaning is Love.

John 3:16,17

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son in the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

The first gift was sent from God to you and me.

We were in need of a savior and God sent Jesus to make a way for us never to be condemned. When we accept his gift of eternal life we are set free.

May you look at Christmas in a new way this year.

This is the season to invite Jesus into your heart so you can know his love for you and understand he has come to give you a new life filled with hope and peace.

Father God,

Thank you for coming to be born so that I could have eternal life. I pray for those who are lost without you that they come to a place where they see their need for you. ( if you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart and you want him to, will you pray this prayer…)

Lord Jesus forgive me for my sins, would you come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Help me to trust you as I walk out my life with you in Jesus name I pray amen.

If you have asked Jesus to come into your life, heaven is rejoicing and so am I.

welcome to the family of God.

Jesus is the reason for the season.

Praying blessings for you today,

If you asked Jesus to come into your heart send me an email at bythesea.jamie@gmail I’d love to here from you and encourage you in your walk with God.
