It’s been a struggle to make sense of the tragic events that have happened in our world.
My heart is heavy this morning as I write.
I find myself whispering often, “Come Lord Jesus, come quickly.”
My daughter is on a flight this morning to California, I could barely sleep last night thinking about all the what if’s. “Lord keep her safe.” was my prayer through the night.
A few days ago someone had shared a post on facebook that grabbed my attention. An elderly christian man stood defending his faith in a crowed of muslim men.
I watched as the elderly man stood up proclaiming that Jesus is real.
“You cannot take away the name of Jesus,” his strong voice shouted. After a few moments he sat down to catch his breath.
The crowd standing around him held their phones videotaping the scene. They laughed at him, mocked him and tried to silence him, calling him a liar.
The elderly man did not once back down. He stood up in front of the unbelieving men and opened his bible. The truth stirred the men in the crowed and they got louder pointer their finger at him and shouting the name of their god.
“For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given and the government will be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counselor, The mighty God. The baby that was born on this earth is The mighty God.” his stern voice professed.
I started to weep for those men listening.
He continued to read the word of God out loud. He was proclaiming that Jesus was the only way and that if these men did not repent that they would go to hell. The crowed was in an uproar over the truth.
He told them to give their lives to Jesus over and over.
When the video ended I sat there for a few minutes realizing that we really are living in perilous times just like the word of God said we would.
2 Timothy 3:1 “You should know this, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.”
I look out my window at the beautiful scenery around me, the quiet calm gives me a false hope that all is well in the world.
But in truth, it is not, no matter which social media you use the news is consistent.
The questions I began to ask myself, Am I ready to defend my faith?
Am I ready to stand up for what I believe no matter what the cost?
There are Christians all over the world that are taking a stand for the truth.
This is not new it is just now touching the lives of those who are awake and willing to carry their cross. From the beginning of time the bible has been telling us what has been, what is and what will come.
For the true believe that waits and is vigilant in prayer,
Remember the world can take everything from you, but they cannot take God from your heart.
Standing in the gap for believers around the world as we pray “Come Lord Jesus.”
Praying for you,
